Self-assessment requires the inheritance deed along with the corresponding form; The granting of the inheritance deed can be postponed but not the self-assessment for which it will be necessary, in such case, to attach to the corresponding form an instance in which the assets are inventoried, along with the will and death certificate.

Hereditary succession constitutes the taxable event of the inheritance tax, although, within the Valencian Community there are strong tax reductions and bonuses in favor of the spouse and first-degree descendants.
